The best-laid plans … Joe and I are planning A Celebration of Memories for our 50th Anniversary in 2 weeks. I had a reasonable schedule for making plans and preparations and was making reasonable progress. And then … a routine dental visit resulted in the discovery of an abscessed tooth that needed to be extracted now! However, my plans didn’t leave time for unexpected occurrences.
So … instead of a post, I’ll leave you a video of one of my favorite songs. Singing, or listening to, “God on the Mountain” encourages me when things go wrong - whether plans or pain or disappointments or new diagnoses.
This song expresses my utter faith in God during the hard times. It asserts God’s unchanging nature. When we love Him during the good times because of his goodness, we need to love Him during the bad times, too, since He’s still just as good then.
PS: The oral surgeon took it out today. Everything went well. He verified that it badly needed to be extracted.
A side note for people with chronic conditions
I hadn’t noticed the pain - or rather, I did notice - but didn’t realize it was different as I considered the pain to just be my normal, everyday stuff. Lesson: pay attention to your body, people!
