Salvation is as easy As A-B-C
Salvation offered by the Heavenly Father who is called the Creator of heaven and earth isn’t complicated. According to the Bible, every human has a rebel nature against the way God created people to live. Humanity’s history of internal, personal corruption blinds people to peace, love and harmony between themselves and their Divine Creator. God loves each person. His words tell us He “is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
Why would people perish, some ask? The answer lies in God’s nature of perfection. To be clear, God’s perfection prevents Him from creating anything imperfect. He created people to be perfect, to live without any imperfection. He created them to live with peace, love, and positive feeling for others. He planned for humanity to have all these things. God can’t receive people who choose to trade away His way of living for a life of failings and shortcomings. If the Lord in heaven accepted imperfection, then heaven would become populated with imperfect people. Since God could not accept such a place, heaven would no longer exist.
God's plan
God has a plan that will transform us into acceptable inhabitants for heaven. Jesus took our guilt for sin and the resultant punishment we deserve, dying in our place. Because Jesus died for our sins, He offers to forgive anyone who asks Him. But Jesus didn’t stay dead: He became alive again. He has the power to give victory over the death we all as sinners deserve. He is the only one who can offer eternal life to all who believe He is God’s only Son. This begins the moment a person seeks peace with God. To receive peace with God for all time, just use the simple ABC acronym.
As easy as A-B-C
- Admit you are not living as the Bible admonishes people to. Romans 3:23 demonstrates that every individual has done wrong. In a nutshell, just realize you are a sinner rebelling against God. The bad news is that the penalty for sin is eternal death. The first part of Romans 6:23 describes this, “For the wages of sin is death.” On to the good news.
- Believe Jesus Christ came as God incarnate, fully God and fully man. As the only sinless person to ever live, He could pay the penalty for our wrongs. The last part of Romans 6:23 gives us the good news. “But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” So God leaves us with hope, but receiving that hope requires a choice from you.
- Choose to ask the Savior God, the only true God, to forgive you for being a sinner. A sinner is a rebel against God, resisting faith in Jesus as Savior. Confess that your sinful nature is more than you can conquer. Desire the Lord God to change and free you from sin and guilt. He will bring eternal life to you.
