Can’t believe this. Two weeks in a row. Still unable to spend the time I need to do another post! Just the storms of my life! So … no new post again.
Almost finished with the “God Connections” section. Hope to have them all up this weekend. Then on to the meat of this site: “Storm Dwellers” and “Storm Observers”, the sections including encouragement, tips, ideas, and education.
Three ways to profit from my hard time
2 reminders for Dwellers:
- Anticipate the unexpected. Leave time in your life for those occasions when your body surprises you by disabling you from carrying out your normal activities. Don’t schedule yourself so tightly you can’t make adjustments. This has been one of the hardest issues for me. I want to be able to do what I think I should when I think it should be done!
- Read the fine print! One unexpected difficulty this week arose from not reading the paper the doctor gave me before my pneumonia immunization. Pneumonia is deadly for me, so when they came out with a new shot, I thought, “Great!” If I had read the paper, I would have seen the “When not to” section and asked the doc if the risk was worth it. He probably would have said, “Yes.” I probably would have still gotten the shot, but neither of would have been surprised at the nasty turn of events!
1 consideration for Observers:
- When your friend has to suddenly cancel a pre-planned activity with you, be patient. Maybe he got surprised by an unexpected flare or blindsided by an unforeseen reaction. Remember she is probably as disappointed as you are — or maybe even more so. I realize this could even cause some difficulties for you, but please realize your friend’s predicament could be worse. If you could go a step further and ask what you can do for him or her, how fantastic!
I just didn’t want you to think I forgot you.
Hope to be back next Friday.
I’m considering some major changes in the future. What ideas would you have? What do you like? What do you think could be discontinued? What should be added? Please leave a comment, or use the contact form.
Til next time, Connected Carole

This font is a lot easier to read and I was able to enlarge it in the browser so if you can’t make it larger and still have all the content that you would like on the page that might be the way to go. Somewhere on your home page though, where people will see it right away, you might make mention that if they can’t read it, they can enlarge the page and how to do that. I have designed several websites and the one thing that stands out, is that there are still a lot of people that aren’t that familiar with computers. They may not know how to make adjustments to the website they are looking at. If it is difficult for them to see they will just leave. Just a suggestion. Blessings to you
I think you should think about changing the font type and size on your website. One of the storms that I have on an on going basis is trouble with my eyes. I also have several other unseen disabilities and this site was recommended to me to get some encouragement but so far I am not sure what I have read is worth the struggle to try to read this font. I am not being mean just trying to make a helpful suggestion for others with eye problems.
Thanks, Bonnie. I appreciate the feedback. Even negative feedback (with good motives) is welcome. This site is still fairly new, so I need to know what readers are thinking. Changed the font, but will have to research changing the size (easily).
